Century Tuna leads the way to health with highly successful Superbods Runs

Kicking off a healthy 2010, market leader Century Tuna recently held the Century Tuna Superbods Run 2010, the year’s biggest and most star-studded celebration of health and fitness, at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
Congratulations to the “run of the century” which drew more than 11,000 health and fitness enthusiasts! Runners and spectators who witnessed the race attest it was a running event unlike any other.

For one exhilarating morning, an entire vacant block within the upscale Bonifacio Global City was transformed into a vibrant, bustling hub that celebrated health and fitness with its many booths and activities – from yoga and capoeira sessions, roller races and photo booths, to a bustling Century Tuna Supermart, and sampling stations that provided tasty treats to all the guests.
Acording to Century Pacific Group General Manager Gold Tantoco, the event is the company’s way of giving back and rewarding its loyal consumers. “Our consumers helped us become a market leader. And as a market leader, we want thefeel they are important to us. This is the reason we left no stone unturned in ensuring the Run would be an enjoyable unforgettable, world-class experience for all of them.”

Paparazzis had a blast that day as business tycoons, media moguls, showbiz stars and local sports celebrities joined thousands of runners in racing to the finish line. But beyond the glitz and the glamorous festivities, the Superbods Run was also a fundraising event, where proceeds of a raffle-for-a-cause were donated to the UNICEF and the WWF.

It’s obviously this same commitment to health and fitness that inspires the company to come up with the much-awaited yearly Superbods event. This year’s event, adds Tantoco, is even more meaningful because “we’ve inspired more people to be fit and active; more people realized they can get started on a healthy lifestyle, regardless of the season or setting. It’s our way to keeping them inspired and motivated to stay fit and healthy.”

Tupperware is back!

Years ago, when you say Tupperware, people automatically understand you’re referring to plastic food containers, in the same way that saying Colgate means toothpaste, Shellane refers to LPG and Kodak to pictures.

But in recent years, with the advent of newer food container brands, Tupperware seems bound to totally lose its top-of-mind recall.  Until last week when Fullerlife Direct Selling Philippines, Inc. announced it is changing its company name to Tupperware Brands Philippines and promised a stronger, more dynamic marketing thrust to sell not just Tupperware but six other brands– Colour Collection, Ivana, Playtex, Circus, and Hanes.

We will also be seeing a revival of the world-renowned Tupperware Party.

“It’s a tradition that Tupperware has long been known for. The new Tupperware Party will feature product demos, cooking lessons, exclusive deals and fun learning sessions, as we hope to train our dealers in a fun way, help them earn in a real way and provide lifestyle solutions to consumers in a purposeful way. This year, dealers can expect the most lucrative earning opportunities and incentives only from Tupperware Brands Philippines,” added Cherry McCaffrey, marketing director.

So now, if you’re almost as old as me, you can maybe expect more people to understand that when you say Tupperware, you definitely mean plastic – both in the figurative or literal sense.

Dinner with Giselle and Tongkat Ali

Attended a bloggers’ dinner with Giselle Sanchez at Fish & Co in Greenbelt 3 the other night. She and hubby Emil wanted to share the wonders of Tongkat Ali (Enduranz) which helped them conceive their second child.

First, let me say kudos to Emil for being brave and agreeing to share his experience to the public. Most men would never do such a thing. In most cases, the wives simply assume they’re  the ones with reproductive problems. But as most experts would say, going for a sperm count is actually a simple and easy procedure and doing so immediately resolves 50% of the problem.

According to Giselle, they have been trying to get pregnant for years, and even had to buy Tongkat Ali from Dubai at such exhorbitant prices. Until they found out that Enduranz is available locally at a very cheap prince -- around P20 per capsule!

Enduranz’ main ingredient is of course Tongkat Ali – it’s actually an herbal supplement that brings back the normal testosterone level of men. It can help in male infertility problems and erectile dysfunction. It is also proven that this kind of herb can produce arousal and sexual motivation.

The capsule also contains Malunggay which is known to have anti-oxidant properties and has high calcium content; Banaba which improves glucose and metabolism, and Gotu Kola is known to be an aphrodisiac because of its capabilities to enhance mental abilities, improving blood circulation, wound healing, anti-stress and works against rheumatism.

Word of warning to women though: Enduranz is FOR MEN ONLY. We thought it necessary to remind everyone of this since Giselle shared funny stories of older women approaching her to say they have been taking Enduranz!

Enduranz is available in all Mercury Drug, Watsons, and in all leading drugstores in the Philippines.

Held at the lobby of the Ayala Museum, the cocktail launch of Randy Ortiz for Plains & Printsgathered fashionistas, celebrities, fashion editors and writers, who were clad in their most stylish black and white garb to celebrate the artistic fusion of fashion from Plains & Prints and Ortiz. The venue became a fashion gallery-cum-runway that fittingly presented a collection that revealed a splendid play of colors, textures and silhouettes inspired by the designer’s fashion muses.

On hand to welcome guests were Plains & Prints creative head and owner Roxanne Farillas and Randy Ortiz, who were both excited to present the fruits of their collaboration before an eager audience of trendsetters and fashion lovers.

“It has always been our goal to work with designers like Randy Ortiz who have made such a huge impact in the Philippine fashion industry. This collaboration has created a capsule collection that perfectly merged the signature looks of both Randy Ortiz and Plains & Prints,” explained Farillas.

Models sashayed in tunic tops, dresses, and blouses in jewel tones and printed patterns, and the special Randy Ortiz Prints in Red and Gray that incorporated the designer’s famous rosette texture and pattern. Also presented were exciting new pieces from Plains & Prints’ Holiday 2009 Collection, featuring dresses, tops, skirts and pants in flamboyant yet elegant designs in rich, solid colors. Besides a spectacle of fashion firsts and dream collaborations, Plains & Prints also showed its commitment to further take fashion to a higher level by holding a Buyer’s Night, which would help raise funds for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng.
